Getting ready for my new solo show: Lisbon, November 2016

After a few weeks of vacation, during which I rested and traveled but also I took thousands of photos, visited museums and galleries and thought of new projects, I am returning to my paintings loaded with energy and happy to be preparing my new solo Show. It will take place in Lisbon (Portugal), at Arte Periférica Gallery in November. I will inform here and on Facebook about the exact dates and the opening.

VKR Holding, Copenhagen

Thank you VKR Holding for inviting me to beautiful Copenhagen. I loved meeting the Velux team and the other artists, and visiting your campus (with the fantastic Olafur Eliasson structure), and the very interesting Villum Window Collection! It was great to see the place where my painting is going to live from now on. Your wonderful city was such a joy to visit ! Thank you very much!

Art Auction

An Exhibition and Silent Art Auction to raise funds for children cancer research is being held tomorrow. The works will be displayed in Madrid at the COAM ( until May 31st. The Auction will take place that same date in the evening.  I am participating with one of my paintings, please take a look at the catalog (link). Very good starting prices. Also a Row 0 for donations if you cannot attend.

April 2016 at the Golden Foundation

MIP 7826

April 9 was the opening of the Made in Paint Show at the S&A Golden Gallery, New Berlin, New York. Works of the 2015 Resident artists will be displayed until August. Don't miss it if you are nearby. My work (with the blue chair) will welcome you. I felt extremely fortunate to be at the opening and get together with friends.

After the opening I stayed at the Sam and Adele Golden Foundation for a few days, happy to be back in "my" studio, working on 7 new canvasses. What a privilege to be there, thank you Golden family!

First Prize Winner of VKR75 Painting Competition

With enormous pride and joy, I announce that I am the First Prize winner of the VKR Holding 75 (link) anniversary International Painting Competition, awarded in Copenhagen. You can see a picture of the winning painting below. Its title is "Enlightenment":

The painting competition collated works of art from no fewer than 20 countries in Europe, Asia and North and South America. The central theme for the competition was that : "the work should express the importance of the window to buildings, with particular emphasis on light through the roof or facade".

April 2016

On April 1st I gave a talk about my work at The Bryn Mawr School (link) in Baltimore. It was a rewarding and joyful experience. The audience was fantastic and the students and professors really made me feel at home.

The following week I transmitted my experience as a painter through an art workshop at Gilman School. I encouraged the boys to be brave with color. I was very satisfied with the outcome, the students did a great work.
